Prairie Farm Supper Fundraiser

September 20, 2025 @ 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm

On Sept 20, 2025, we’ll be hosting a Prairie Farm Supper fundraising event at a farm in Castle Rock. Registration is live. Beautiful location, amazing folks and delicious food. Get your tickets now!

Why are we fundraising?

  • We have a real chance at flipping our MN Senate seat blue!
  • We MUST keep our US Congressional seat blue as Angie Craig sets her sights on a US Senate seat,
  • We might have a candidate to run for MN House 58B . . . more to come on this . . .

To help make these campaigns successful, we’ll need:

  1. Union-shop printed materials to hand out and to mail
  2. Postage
  3. Our website
  4. To contribute our share towards the Coordinated Campaign up-and-down the ballot big mailer that goes out next year
  5. To pay for the venues to host our Precinct Caucus and our Convention next year.

Why a Prairie Farm Supper?

We live in a largely rural district by geography, even though most of our voters live in the small cities of Farmington, Northfield and New Prague. Historically we’ve done a lousy job of connecting with our rural neighbors. By kicking off with our major fundraiser in a rural setting we’re showing this commitment to prioritizing our rural roots in District 58. The ingredients for our meal will be sourced right here in our district. Our MN Senate Candidate is a farmer. We will promote our intention to serve rural communities by addressing priorities that are salient to the people who live out here: water and soil quality, education, healthcare, affordability.

Our host has been on this land since 1942, and has transitioned the farmland to Conservation status. For years he’s been working with a variety of organizations to plant 1,000+ oak trees, scatter gazillions of prairie flower seeds, and cultivate a healthy ecosystem for the wildlife that now enjoys this reserve. Our Governor and Lieutenant Governor have both hunted turkeys on this land!

Most of his property was recently turned over to Dakota County to be permanently protected and maintained as a Nature Preserve.

What’s going to happen at the Prairie Farm Supper?

We’ll have some time to roam amongst the prairie flowers immediately surrounding the venue. We’ll have a moderated conversation and Q&A with our MN Senate , US Representative and (hopefully) our MN House candidate starting at 3pm. At 4:30 we’ll have a group photo in front of a banner with our values and a big American flag.

All of our state dignitaries have been invited.

We’ll have a Silent Auction featuring locally-sourced items, and we’ll be raffling off a 5’ X 8’ flag that flew at the US Capital.

At 5:00 a buffet supper will be served, including a hearty beef stew and a hearty vegan stew, an autumn green salad, light and fluffy yeast rolls served with butter, roasted seasonal vegetables, quinoa salad with butternut squash, and for dessert, pumpkin pie, caramel apple pie, chocolate cupcakes . . . We’ll eat on real plates with real utensils at long tables, farm supper style!

Why are there a few different ticket prices?

Everyone who purchases a ticket will get the same experience. We wanted to give people options in terms of their ability to support our work. Because of the nature of our event most of the ticket-purchases will not be eligible for the Political Campaign Reimbursement program.

The address for the supper will be given with a confirmation email after tickets are purchased.

What if the weather is bad on September 20th?

We’ve decided to simply cancel the event and offer to return people’s money if the weather is inclement.
